Armando Christian Pérez alias Pitubull
Armando Christian Pérez (born January 15, 1981), better known as Pitbull, is an American rapper. His first song was the album Kings of Crunk by Lil Jon appeared in 2002, and later to launch their 2004 debut album MIAMI name (short for Money Is A Major Issue) with label TVT Records. Since then he has released two albums with the name El Mariel in 2006 and The Boatlift in 2007. He is the host of the show in Spanish La Esquina on Mun2 channel.
Pitbull Armando Christian Pérez was born of Cuban parents, exiles. Perez was influenced both by the poet José Martí and the Cuban Miami bass, a genre of hip-hop. His parents were separated when he was still small, being raised by his mother. Later he stayed at a foster family in Roswell, Georgia. He began rapping in high school inspired by Nas, The Notorious BIG and Big Pun. At age 16 he gave his mother out of the house because it became a drug dealer. He then graduated from Coral Park High School and focused on his career as a rapper. After meeting with Irv Gotti, Pitbull met Luther Campbell of 2 Live Crew, who encouraged to participate in rap battles on the radio. He expressed concern for West Coast rap from the East and later in life.
Pitbull said that he chose the stage name because when your dog does not bite the road.
